The 'Nur zur Verrechnung' red stampmark translates as 'only for billing' or 'only for settlement of invoices'.
Companies would have issued notes out but those stamped "nur zur Verrechnung" would not go into general circulation but be used to settle invoices from other companies, presumably for reasons of financial prudence......

Interesting that one billion used to be recognized as one million million. Not any more. It is now recognized ad one thousand Million.
International standards were changed about 50 years ago.

@sel69l - things change - sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. If a seller/dealer/collector is selling a German banknote from 1923 that has a face-value of '10 milliarden' mark (10,000,000,000m) - hopefully we both agree that it shouldn't be described as a 10 'billion' mark note (10,000,000,000,000m)? I see it all the time...........and to me, it is totally wrong.

A 'banknote' made from 7 individual ones! This '1 Trilliarde' note (1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000m) is a made-up 'joke' piece! Very interesting though......

@IndianGoldEagle - Nice note. In 1993 how much would this have been worth ..or what would you have been able to buy with it? I do find the hyper-inflationary notes mind-boggling but so interesting.
