I keep the coppers, but I wouldn't say it was economicial smart to spend the time doing it. I have found some AM wides 1998 and 2000. Also, found a 1900 cent. Then mostly common wheats. I have some 1992s that are very close to closed, but their is a small gap. I have assumed that they are normal. It appears to me that a lot of folks around here are desperate for cash and all of those legendary jars of accumulated pennies are being rolled and exchanged for "folding" money. Then I will have an easier time sorting for the wheaties and OCCASIONAL IHC, still hoarding all the copper. As it is now, I hoard all the copper cents. For the 1982s I use the ring test. Need a good ear for this one, but dropping a copper cent produces a ring, where a zinc cent sounds flat. I know people that will buy wheatie common rolls for $1.50 and copper Memorials for 80 cents to a dollar. Report this Post to the Staff
