So excited! Went through another 200+ Buffalo nickels, found a whole bunch of goodies, 1913 S type 2X2, 1914 D (without acid), etc. This is one of the goodies:

My second 1918/7 D!!

Number 3, where are you?

By the way, I have learned, that if you are taking pictures of the date on a 1918/7 D, if you take them upside down, they work great.

It's really neat to raise those dates and find a special one.

Very nice! I agree that the upside down pic shows it just a little more prominently.

Looks like it's worth sending it in to ANACS.

Are you using chemicals to raise the date?

Yes, I acid treat hundreds of Buffalo nickles using nic-a-date.

Don't acids you use to raise the date degrade the coin? You have a coin with a faint date that is really crusty and distorted using acids IMO. You still have the date, however, and if it a rare coins then it must be worth the effort. What is a coin like you showed with an acid raised date worth?

Well, first off, I only acid treat NO date nickels! (Sorry for yelling had to make my point). The coin I posted is probably worth $250. My first one is probably $350, because how bold it is.
