Funny to find this thread today.
I just found some unused NCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball Championship tickets stuffed in a book today. They are not very old though. From 2010. Do people really collect these?

Sure they do! I'm guessing many modern tickets are kept more as remembrances, but a memorable game or concert is good enough reason. Tonight I'll add an item that is not quite a ticket, but served as one. It's a 1900 annual pass for free passage on the Duluth, South Shore & Atlantic Railroad. It ran on more than 500 miles of track in Michigan's upper peninsula.

Has it really been a year since this thread has had a post? Time for some new material!

There are some phenomenal tickets on this thread. I hope these are not off topic, but none of them have any numismatic connection. Mostly race and concert tickets fro the 70's, 80's and 90's.

@GregAlex, that Pan-Pac ticket is excellent. I've visited the Palace of Fine Arts a couple times on trips to San Francisco, and while I realize it's not the original building depicted in the vignette above, it's still an amazing structure. The first time I visited, I didn't grasp its significance (particularly related to the world of numismatics) and just throught it was a really cool building. Now I know better.
@Steve: Supertramp...Ted Nugent... niiiiiice. Are these tickets from shows and events you've personally attended? I try to save all my old ticket stubs so I enjoy looking at others'.

CelticKnot, I never realized the Palace had been rebuilt. One of my favorite buildings in San Francisco. I've got a slew of old postcards from that exposition, but that would be a whole different thread.
Steve did you go to all those events? Those are pretty awesome! No numismatic connection required, I just happen to collect engraved tickets. Btw, I did not attend the Panama-Pacific Expo.
Somewhere I have a coffee can of old stubs going back to the '80s. Wonder what's down at the bottom of that...

Yes, all of the tickets were events I attended.
I was a huge Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan, and went to many Winston Cup NASCAR races throughout the southeast.

Interesting topic. I have many, many tickets from sporting events, concerts, movies, and other things. Might need to round them up for some photographs.

I dug out that old can of ticket stubs -- stuffed to the top. Brought back a lot of memories sifting through it. Man, I went to a lot of movies! Mostly forgettable, along with a lot of other events, but some were pretty cool. More than anything I remember who I went with and what my life was about at that moment. I won't bore you with the movie stubs, but here are some of the more interesting tickets. Those were the days, my friends...

Thanks to all who posted their historic tickets and admission passes. Really neat! I will post mine, when I find them! One of my pet peeves is when I buy tickets from the ticket cashier, then I take a few steps to the ticket taker who tears them in half and returns a stub to me. Aggh!
