Too bad about those scratches because I like how the reverse has toned.

I ended up selling this for $90 for a reason.

Stamped in a casino.

Out of curiosity, why would anyone have that 1881 slabbed? Does the CC mint mark help?

Actually I just pulled out the Red Book and apparently this is one worth slabbing.

I had to look, too.

I think for $90, someone got a great deal, especially of they like counter stamped coins.

Well, the good news is that this wasn't worth much in the first place. The fact that Grandpa kept it makes me think it might have been my uncle who used it for target practice.

And at 300 yards, he was a good shot with a .22!
