I think it should have graded clean as well. It's not like someone intentionally damaged the coin. A lower grade would have been appropriate, IMO.

Looks like the damage is at the jaw line, extending into the upper neck.

Beautiful coin ... sad it got a details grade.

I am not seeing what would cause them to give a details grade.

Only thing I do see is a small rim hit, on reverse above UNITED.
