Congrats J-Easy!
I don't mean to be a sore loser but was there another group involved in world war 2 besides axis and allies, because I said "countries that where involved in WWII". I just didn't realize that there was another group.

Thanks guys! and thanks to Ken_3567 for hosting this contest!

Finland had fought Germany and Iraq had fought the UK without joining either alliance. I guess its up to interpretation.

be sure to post plenty of pics once you get this collection going!

justabeginner, I really thought you had it and was getting a shipping label ready for Australia BTW, I preferred half dollar sized coins for the set but it was not necessary

Jser, sorry but there were countries that were not involved with WWII but were listed as allies or axis. J-easy pointed out Iraq and on the Allied side I can point out another example, The Dominican Republic.

I'll admit I thought this would have been easy but this set forced me to do a lot of history research to determine which coin types should be included. Now I know some dumb bar facts like the only South American country to send troops to Europe during WWII was Brazil.

For all of you newbies out there, I highly recommend a type set based on history. Here are some of the great ideas for a set I saw with answers in this thread:
  • World War II Internment Camp Tokens (Snooba)
  • WWII Military Payment Script (Bonedigger)
  • end of the British Empire, from each country that was a colony (MorganNoob)
  • ]

Axis and Allies used to be my favourite board game, along with Risk.... When I saw the third hint, I screamed AXIS AND ALLIES!....... But j-easy got it before me.... So congrats j-easy....
