Helgoland and Broager again. I can't read the Broager one, but it seems to me if you are pro-German you use one side, and pro-Dane you use the other.

Learned some history -- I thought Britain seized Helgoland after WWI.

I've stepped back from the notgeld for today in favour of this note. Higher grade examples are inexpensive, so an upgrade for this one is certainly on the radar.

Though the note says 1912 on it, the red stamp apparently means it was re-issued in 1919 (link).

Arkie - I liked the Helgoland note. I've just been there, and it seems incredible that it once had its own currency! It wasn't occupied by Britain after WW1 but was after WW2, only being returned to Germany in 1952 after all military installations had been blown up.
