Quote: 1863 Republica Peruana. Un centavo. Quote: 1864 Republica Peruana. Dos centavos Neither of these coins was struck by the US Mint. The Mint was not authorized to strike foreign coins until January 29, 1874 (via Act of Congress signed by President); the first foreign circulation coins it struck were for Venezuela - they were copper-nickel-zinc 1 and 2-1/2 centavos pieces dated 1876 and 1877. The US Mint struck its first coins for Peru in 1918 - copper-nickel 5, 10 and 20 Centavos coins (in 1916 the US Mint provided Peru with silver planchets for its use in striking its Sol coins and with gold planchets it used to strike its Libra coins).

Quote: Not indicated any where by the US Mint* When the thread was started, the OP provided a link to the coins of interest on the PCGS site. Here's a link to the intro to the list on the PCGA site: http://www.PCGS.com/setregistry/mul...-states/4824The list is specific to coins minted at the US Mints in Philadelphia, Denver, New Orleans, San Francisco and West Point - it does not include pieces struck by private mints. My comments were based on what the OP stated/provided when the thread was started.

Here's one struck at the US Mint in Philadelphia. A 1915 20 Pesos gold coin for the Republic of Cuba. The coin was struck on a 0.900 fine gold planchet and contains 0.9675 ounces of pure gold (same as a US Double Eagle). It has very nice cartwheel luster in hand!
