EOS TC's are going to be more expensive since they generally transfer contacts to control the camera lens. Cheapest ones I see are in the $100 range. I have and use the 1.4x, and I believe it will work on both of your bodies. It works fine on my 50D, Rebels, and even on my IR converted 20D.
