P.S.A. (rant) I always try to encourage collectors to collect whatever makes them happy. With that being said, I sometimes worry that some collectors may confuse the Universal Coolness Index with established Fancy serial numbers. You need to look no further than the first note posted on this thread - JK00707077A. This is an interesting serial number, but it's not Fancy. It's not a Solid, or Repeater, or Radar, or Ladder, or High, or Low. The only auction venue that mentions the Coolness Index is ebay, and that's because sellers write their own auction descriptions and take their own photos. You will never hear the Coolness Index mentioned on Heritage or Stacks or Lyn Knight or any other auction venue where professionals write the auction description. Once again, collect whatever makes you happy, but be aware that a high Coolness Index number does not always translate as valuable or desirable by other collectors.

Quote: P.S.A. (rant) ... . . . . . Well said Steve. I started this thread many moons ago for fun and possibly a learning tool. Threads like yours are very helpful to the beginner collector (whether they know it or not).

Coolness factors in order: 98.7% 98.1% 99.05% What was really cool about these is that I got them all on Wednesday for face value. There's a lady at my laundromat who saves them for me.

@BigAppleBucky, would you have paid anything above face value to own them if she was selling them ?

She did not need to show me 150 interesting numbered and star notes. I took four star notes with low numbers - leading four zeros, but none of them were rare.

A high "coolness" factor has little correlation with value, if any.

I don't know how "cool" this is. But after reading this thread I decided to take a look to see if I had anything interesting. Missing a few bills. Is this something worth keeping? They are all mint. I'm guessing probably no. HiRes: https://images2.imgbox.com/42/09/Y30Zuh1l_o.jpg
