he's talking about buying full boxes of half dollars from the bank. They contain $1,000 worth of rolled half dollars.

A box is $500 of half dollars, $500 of quarter dollars, $250 of dimes, $100 of nickels, or $25 of pennies!

The silver has been dry lately, as a lot of people are reporting. So dry, that I'm tempted to order a box of quarters. Yeah, I've always heard that was the worst in terms of finding anything interesting. But then again, I've never actually done a box so I'm just going off what people say. Any encouraging stories lately from anyone that might persuade me to get those quarters? Or is it as bad as they say?

photoeric21 - Congratulations That is not bad for 1 roll. If we could find that in every roll there would not be so much pain.

i WENT THRU A WHOLE BUNCH OF BOXES OF HALF DOLLARS, FILLINHG FOLDERS, AND MAKING A DARTE-ROLL SET. iT WORKED OUT FINE, AS FAR ATS IT WENT. I STILL HAVE NOT FOUND ENOUGH 78-d TO FILL A ROLL, WHICH WOULD COMPLETE THE "d" SET. sO I STARTED ON THE "p" MIMT. tHERE EVERYTHING HIT THE DKIDS! tHERE ISN'T ANY SUCH ANIMAL!( sorry about the caps. I judt noticed them). I got a few post2k coins, and three late '60's, (all very bad shape), probably why they were there. This out of about a dozen boxes. Thety are too heavy to do like I do with the cents, to get "P" MM. I get three at a time. I din't think the carriers would be able to handle three boxes! I don't think it will be worth my while to finish the"P" date-rolls. After all the checking, I have two and a galf boxes of rolls, and still not a complete set. I better stick to quarters. I'm up to par, there, and waiting for the new releases. Same deal, date-rolls of the state series, plus a P/D set, as well. Then there are the folders. One doesn't rrealize how deep one can get, without trying! Anyone have a roll of 1978-d half dollars? I just want the regular circulated coins. Thanks, just in case. Dick

You guys are lucky! I've gone through ~$110 of halves down here and only 2 40%-ers, an 82-S, and an 80-D with a weak FG have shown up. As for the 78-D, only found one so far.

I'm guessing? Only 13.8 million 78-Ds, 14.4M 78-P (although, they are more plentiful), 68.3M 79-Ps, and 15.8M 79-Ds. All other 1970s issues are 30 million+ and the next set of years that are under 15M are the 82 P&D issues.
