Coinplus, Bobby's old as dirt on the forum, knows his stuff. I'll restate my previous post, too many fine discrepancies particularly the lower leg of 3. Yes in that time frame counterfeiters flourished, they have throughout time, just that most recently one "mint" in China is cranking out over 100,000 fakes a month!. Also you must note that back in 1950's the word "COPY" was not by law put on fake coins yet. The reason its not a plated steel 1943 is because the base material is a copper/zinc/tin alloy, the elements in brass.

Um, Bobby is the founder and owner of CCF....

Coinplus64, I express great doubt here because great doubt is prudent in this circumstance. I am not willing to express any sort of certainty, and do not endorse any certainty being expressed, because many years of shooting my own coins and teaching that skill online leave me aware of the color and spatial distortions possible in images such as yours. I take as fact only that the coin does not stick to a strong magnet, because you have stated that plainly.

It is almost assured that your coin is a fake one way or the other, simply because the odds dictate it. All the same, despite enormous odds, somebody always wins the lottery.

Coinplus, what ever did you find out about your coin? I'm hoping it was the lucky one!
