I am very much a newby to the world of serious collecting though I've been
doing so on and off since 1961 when a relative gave me a US Proof set of
that year. I like most any older American coinage as long as its coin silver
and not clad, I have a large, well large to me, collection of Morgan dollars
that came down to me from a beloved aunt who passed away in 1971; each payday
when you could do such a thing she would go to the main office of a large
local bank and get a teller to let her peruse through their silver dollar
"collection" and she would pick out about 10 to keep. On her demise my
mother and her two sisters divided the Morgans up evenly among them and then
my share came to me later.
