Hey everyone, so I got lucky a few months ago now and got the opportunity to buy what probably will be my favourite coin I'll ever own. It's a 1880 $2 gold Newfoundland which is the key of the series. I personally think this coin is a great example and have a good idea what the grade is going to be but I do have it sent to PCGS now and I should have it back before Christmas. I'd love to hear everyone else's opinion on the grade and what they think of the coin! I plan to post more pictures of the true view PCGS offers when I get the coin back as well with the results will be posted here! Thanks in advance everyone!    Edited by EddiesCoinStore

beautiful coin but its tough to grade...especially the obverse due to the photo quality.

Beautiful coin, I love it. So nice to see a gold coin that spent a little time circulating and came out looking so good.

Thanks for all the great comments everyone! I'm hoping for Au-55 but will be perfectly happy with a Au-50 for sure. Waiting impatiently for it to come back from PCGS. :)

Hey everyone just got a email that the coin has been graded Au-58, extremely happy because I was hoping for a Au-50. Glad to be the owner of this coin! Cert # is 34643370 for anyone that would like to take a look at the Trueview.

"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
