@jbuck Quote: If the plating were contaminated with zinc we could call it a... brass monkey. Nice late 1980s Beastie Boys reference? Licensed to Ill album. I remember the very sad day my cassette player in my truck ate that tape.

I must confess Swamp that my present truck does not have a cassette player. That cassette was eaten decades ago.

Actually that's the best possible scenario, since I'm sure it prevented a visitation to me from the "No good deed shall go unpunished" godz.. Have "Licensed To Ill" on vinyl n was gonna bump you off a copy to cassette, but then thought who am I to tempt fate like that..? I'm feeling safer again already.. Will keep it all on ebay where they belong.. Swamp

Any significance with the 1981 date?

You know what? The 1981 date I hadn't noticed. When I won the bid for it the picture was of a 2009 cent. The year of his first inauguration. I need to send an email I see. Thank you.

Quote: Any significance with the 1981 date? Well, from Wikipedia... "In February 1981, Obama made his first public speech, calling for Occidental to participate in the disinvestment from South Africa in response to that nation's policy of apartheid.""Later in 1981, he transferred as a junior to Columbia University in New York City, where he majored in political science with a specialty in international relations and in English literature"Both are not insignificant events, but 1981 is still nothing like 2009.

Thanks Jbuck. Interesting factoids. Guess that'd be why the 1981 was stamped. Cool.
