i told the seller to at least test it for being silver he told me he did and it was, then told me to leave him alone or he will report me for harassment. so I said yes please report me for making you aware you are committing fraud :) he knows 100% its fake but he wants the money

Well, no doubt that's the source of the coin being offered for sale, the distinctive similarities in the date are undeniable. Probably struck and not cast as per my prior conjecture, and quite possibly deliberately "circulated" either by the producer or the secondary market seller, but in any case it's...

I'd be interested in knowing if the Chinese firm responsible for this fraud has gone so far to make it out of a silver alloy, thus endowing it with the correct weight & specific gravity.

if you check his sold listing it has been removed,,,it looks like ebay is on top of it thanks to the people in this forum and nickelsguy for contacting ebay,
it says alot about a sellers integrity when knowing he is ripping someone off and even with everyone watching he still was going through with it,
just hope he doesn't do anymore work to this 120 yr old furniture before a 1921 50c falls out too

Look at his ebay offerings... this guy sells coins. He probably paid $1000 for it from some random guy, and is now stuck with it, with everyone knowing now that he has it...

yea , he is on the ebay boards now pleading his case, saying ebay removed his listing without doing any investigating, claims he is being called guilty without any chance to tell his side of the story..

quote from ebay board
Quote:
eBay has without asking my side of what occurred found me guilty. I cannot sit by and watch my rep get ground down. I have had members onforum canadacoin.com attempt to rip me off through blatant lies the past few months but have been told they are the top in the field. These are the same members who have reported me.

funnything is he doesn't realize that these people are the top in the field

gidjit posted in one thread, and I posted in the other...

Next time, we'll need to bring some cheese for that seller's whine...

As an aside - this thread is another excellent reminder just how useful Mike Marshall's counterfeit coin images are... I do believe he is still selling them, and for anyone who likes to shop for raw coins, it is a must-have...
