I don't think so. If you have nothing for sale it would just come back with no results when clicked.

What a shame, I'm afraid sellers like this mikal3141 are going to ruin the ebay trading platform for coins eventually.

I don't know if ebay is "siding" with him but they did the right thing by locking that thread. It was getting a little bit too personal. At least the Seller is on their radar now!

At least ebay did the right thing by canceling the sale and preventing someone from getting burned.

If in fact the Buyer and the Seller discussed this sale and the Buyer thought the coin was legit too, it just proves the fact that there is no shortage of uninformed idiots out in coinland.

Bottom line in my opinion is the Seller knows 100% that the coin is counterfeit and was just mad cause he got called out on it!

As I mentioned in an earlier post; I think this was at least the second try on ebay for this coin by this seller.

IMHO there's a difference between 'uninformed' and 'willfully ignorant'. There have been several articles in the last few years about how, for many people, being presented with contrary evidence simply reinforces their original belief. Particularly in an online conversation. https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Backfire_effect

Buying a high priced coin without it being professionally graded and NOT knowing what you are doing, is a recipe for disaster.

This buyer should either take the time and get educated (in a hurry) or pack it in and take up gin rummy.

Getting back to the seller, if it's a repeat offense he's doing, it's too bad ebay doesn't have the backbone to do something about it.

That's OK. As soon as our contact in the RCMP can get his phone number, he will be getting a call to refresh his memory about counterfeits.... he'll be on their watch list.
