The Texas half dollar is also one of my favorites - there is an amazing amount of information packed into the reverse design. There were 13 coins issued by date/mm combination and for curious reasons only the 1934 issue appears regularly in honestly circulated state. It is certainly the heavyweight relative to mintage (61,463 coins) and that alone might explain the occurrence. To my eye the Texas half retains it's appeal all the way down to true lowball grades. Here is my overgrazed (IHMO) 1934 circulated example: 1934 Texas Centennial of Independence Half Dollar - PCGS AG03 Enjoy

Ooh, I like that Mark Twain proof. On my short list -- saw one on ebay last week but I didn't trust the photos and had other priorities at the time.

The Mark Twain Half Eagle IMHO is the best designed coin of the recent modern half eagle coins. For anyone who collects boat related coins, this half eagle is a must. The coins were authorized by PL 112-201 just 2 years ago and were to be Quote: . emblematic of the life and legacy of Mark Twain . Here are my proof versions of the half eagle and silver dollar .

WoW! I really like all things Mark Twain, and these commemoratives are most certainly some of the very best of modern issues.
The Gold $5 alone is so stunning. Paddle Wheel too. Anyone know of any other coin that has a paddle wheel on it?
