Heading Out For My Annual Desert Walk-About

Looks like a incredible getaway. Nice brown trout catch. I guess you guys were fly fishing from the depth of the stream. Real beautiful landscape. Although I kept thinking what you would have found with a metal detector in some of those areas. Maybe next year..

see any animals? I have no idea what is up in that area but I would think some bear,elk?

Final reply from me ... then we can allow this family topic to fade into history in anticipation of the next walkabout.

I am amazed and pleased with the interest in the topic ... internalizing only for myself ... there is great appeal to me for simply getting away with 6 days of electronic silence ... no contact at all with the world ... just me and a friend and our skills/equipment to do this.




Lots of elk signs ... a few mule deer sightings ... and a beaver who bravely faced us on day 3 and dared us to throw our lures into 'his' hole to fish for trout. We acknowledged his space and moved on.

I commend to all the re-charge to your spirit that comes from 6 days away with true silence ... it's simply amazing what it does for me ... and you can hopefully find your own way to do this without the need for 65 pound packs.

Looking forward already to my 2019 walkabout.
