I couldn't find a genuine ack-e8 with a quick search. I was able to find one genuine ack-e10 for the T3, but it's $50 so I'll have to think about it.

Thanks for the pic BadDog! I'm still thinking about what I may do. I would like to integrate the tripod I have. It has a geared center pole which would be great for height adjustment. It has a pan/tilt head on it and I'm not sure if it will allow pointing the camera straight down.
