This one just arrived. Studying it close up, I was fascinated by all the little details in the vignette -- the horse and carriage, the men in top hats in the doorway. Great example of the engraver's art.
Very nice!

Time for a big image dump! There are a large number of trolleys that I have yet to scan, but I think 2024 will be the year that happens! Not all at once, tho.

Fantastic, GregAlex! Most major cities in North America once had trolley systems, but we're down to just a couple dozen now.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

An interesting observation on a few of these -- back when trolleys were converting from horse-drawn to electrified, power companies quickly realized that streetcars were becoming some of their biggest municipal customers. So in some cities, the power companies just decided to create their own streetcar service. I've posted a couple of these before, but here are three examples.

Years ago, I picked up a proof of a trolley vignette but it wasn't until recently that I finally found a usage on a stock. This is part of a big haul of railroad stocks I purchased and will post on a separate thread.

This trolley actually ran along a line not far from where I grew up. The vignette is nice but it has another feature that you rarely see on a stock certificate -- an engraved back. Typically, the transfer text was seen as purely functional and nearly always offset printed. In this case, the company paid extra for an embellished version.
