It is nice to see some some evidence to resist the temptation to over grade grade by PCGS.

I over graded.

Like most of us, I sometimes disagree with the results of Third Party Grading, if they are low.
In this case, I feel that I am forced to 'pull my head in' a bit.

Obverse: What was not completely evident to me was strong scuffing on the high points of the cap of Liberty, her eyebrow cheek (I thought scratches only) and the high points of some of the leaves.

Reverse: Wear on the eagle's head beak and on high points of the leading edges of the wings.

Now, there is the temptation to re submit to another TPG, in the hope of a higher grade. Like PCGS, it would be good to resist that temptation.

It doesn't hurt to be humbled occasionally.

Hope this restores some faith in the Third Party Grading industry generally.

I just noticed the area on the cheek. Definitely AU-58.

Late to the party -- beautiful type coin. reverse is stunning, too bad re: the face, seems more like a handling issue/mishap than circulation

This is why it makes sense to collect strong AU-58 coins—it's more attractive than most mint state Barbers.
