There are other ways of helping your kids out numismatically.
When I kick the bucket, my kids have been told to take an equal amount of value out of my collection for themselves, and auction the rest, then pocket the proceeds. They are very likely to choose very different coins, according to their own preferences. Most probably, there will not be any problems; their respective spouses get on very well together.
I have already given them a large part of my collection, which is now out of my possession, and they have kept, not sold. That is what my parents did for me.
They are equal joint executors and beneficiaries of my will.
