Mike - the fact is, on ebay the prices don't make any sense, it's just whatever the bidder is willing to get duped into paying. There's gotta be some suckers cos' there sure are a lot of tight-fisted ones to counterbalance them.
As for the bullion going for more than it's bullion value, sometimes much more, that's dumber than Forrest Gump, 'Dumb and Dumber' plus Dubya combined.

Generally average 1 purchase in every 100 or so I bid on. Took me 4 months to get a Boone Comm. that I wanted. I always put in a bid of $100 and the one I ended up with was a MS for $86 including shipping. I have bought rolls of halves for under melt but not often. I have gotten some good deals on lots where they have 40 or so coins of different denominations. Bad pictures can be good also. I have bought coins off of ebay below melt that looked AG in the picture and turned out to be AU. Have also gotten AG that where AG but if you are paying below melt your not out anything. Another good place tho get a deal is with a seller that is charging a very high shipping fee as a lot of people refuse to pay that much for shipping so they don't even look at the item. I have gotten $60 worth of silver for $40 because the guy had $16 shipping.
