Hmm, now I'm thinking is SIlverDollar2017 right? Is it $239 PER COIN? I thought it was $240 plus a shipping & handling fee of $7 per coin. If so then that answers my question of "what's the catch"? Tricky wording shows that it's a crappy deal. If that's for all 5 coins (which was my initial impression) then it's a great deal as all 5 coins are guaranteed to be graded by NGC to be MS-64, so why would I return one unless I thought it graded lower, and I wouldn't likely 2nd guess an NGC grade. As far as posting a link to it there is no link, I got the offer in the mail. The deal is what Slider23 posted. Thanks SilverDollar2017 for finding the "gotcha". Caveat Emptor.

D-train, on the page that shows all the programs they offer (before clicking in to see the details), it clearly says $246 per coin.

$239 +$7 = $246 $246 / 3 = $82  Seems pretty clear that one coin is a "shipment". |

Typical sleazy seller tactics which depend on people not reading the advertisement in order to succeed. These sort of adverts are often targeted at novice collectors and the elderly, usually through magazine ads, shopping channels and even direct mail.
It should be noted that MS-64 is a technical grade; there are really ugly MS-64 coins and really pretty ones. I could pick out five of the ugliest, most overgraded MS-64's I could find and send them to you, and technically, I'd have fulfilled my promise as a seller.

There was never any trickery ... the deal was crystal clear. The original poster read what he/she wanted to read... a great deal. When in reality it is a terrible deal.
Geesh... this doesn't even qualify as fine print.

Well, you do get a free Collector's Guide.
I'm scrolling through PCGS price guide, guessing which coins you're going to get. So, 1921P ($67), 1921D ($120), 1904O or 1885O ($82), 1879S or 1882S ($82), and 1883CC or 1884CC ($245)? $596 worth of trend price coins for $1230. Such a deal. Maybe they cancel before shipping the CC though.

OK OK guys, you can stop beating me on the head now. It seems simple if you ONLY read that one line, but I guess they distract you with the flashy brochure and hyping up all of the other information that gets you excited hoping you misunderstand what the deal is. It seems that worked with me. Since it seemed like the deal was too good to be true I posted the deal here asking "what am I missing?", and after many responses I finally got the correct answer. I guess they figure I'm a sucker that will buy anything since I bought some of those 1964 Morgans for $10 each from a different company (National Collectors Mint). I knew they weren't real but figured I could buy 5 of them, keep one as an interesting novelty, then sell 4 of them for a profit, which is exactly what I did. I paid $75 for 5 of them ($10 each plus $5 each for shipping), then sold 4 of them for $150 on ebay and kept the nicest one. Sometimes a bad deal can be turned into a great deal. LOL! |

If you would like a mintmark set of MS-64 Morgan dollars, cherrypick PCGS or NGC examples on ebay. Don't just buy any coin; instead, buy examples that are exceptional for the grade that might have a chance at MS-65. Or get examples that have excellent toning or are CAC certified. Remember, buy the coin, not the holder. BTW, someone posted that PCS can also cancel the deal at any time. I just looked over the brochure very carefully and there is NOTHING that states that. Maybe it says this on the website, I don't know as I've never visited it. I'm just going by what they sent me in the mail.

IMO purchasing examples that you are able to pick is always better than the "random coin" offers. You are able to "hand-pick" examples that are on the higher end of their grade.
