@Dcadon

Glad you got yours through website. I like this carousel. There will be a magnet to go along with it in order to move the horses up and down and it is designed so that the coin will not be scratched.

ALSO, the weight of total coin is 188.99 grams of silver which is 6.67 ounces. So why is RCM advertising it as only 6 ounces?

@ New1954

I believe the mint uses troy oz's.

1 oz = 31.103 grams
6 oz = 186.618 grams

I'm curious to see how long it will take for this coin to sell out being that there are only 1000 coins minted.

I like this coin.
I just purchased mine at 4 equal payments.

I Will put this on display.

The weight of the coin is described on the RCM as such:

Your coin was meticulously crafted in 6 ounce 99.9 pure silver, PLUS an extra ounce: the carousel topper! In addition, your coin is GST/HST exempt

188.99 grams equals 6.076 troy ounces.

For those who did get an order in, lots of time to think about cancelling it.
It says "Starts shipping on Sep-28-2018 "

@ New1954

So does that mean there is actually 7 oz's of silver?
That would make it 217.721 grams 7 (troy oz's) or 198.45 grams (7 oz's)

This confusing.

What ever it is I still like this coin.

I am confused as well. I wrote the copy for you that is on the RCM website. The coin itself is 6 ounces and I believe that the topper is extra silver. I could be wrong but that is how I interpret the copy.

I like the coin too and whatever! LOL.I am going for the 4 equal payments as well.

It is confusing in the wording.

"Your coin was meticulously crafted in 6 oz. 99.9% pure silver, plus an extra ounce: the carousel topper!"
"MOVES WITH THE HELP OF A MAGNET! Affixed your coin's surface, this miniature is capable of fully rotating with the help of a magnet (included)."

The magnet would have no effect on silver, so I'd think the topper contains other metals, that extra ounce.

Last airing of the Coin Show on TSC, Steven Bromberg mentioned to make sure to tune in on June 6th as there would be a RCM rep with him showing a never seen before product with something totally new in the design technology. Could this be it?

I'm betting that the coin is probably 5 oz's and the carousel is 1 oz with a metal part at the bottom of the carousel for the magnet to make it go round. Imo.

@ justsilver and @ rjlavoie

You are probably both right.

The coin denomination is $50 which is consistent with their 5oz products.
Rest in Peace

WARNING: I think that this might be the first coin I've ever seen issued with a warning. As if you're going to swallow it.

"This magnet is very powerful. Do not swallow. Attraction of magnets in the body may cause serious injury. Do not handle magnet if you have a pacemaker. This product is not a toy. Keep away from magnetic media storage devices."

@Dcadon

So the magnet looks so tasty that you might want to eat it. LOL

or if you have a bigger appetite you might just go for the whole thing and make it a meal.

That would be one expensive meal!

I was actually a bit disappointed.

In a nutshell, this coin has a component that spins, which doesn't sound new to me. Last year's peace tower clock coin already achieved the spinning effect. With two years's research and work by the RCM engineering team, I expected more.

Maybe I set my bar too high.

Also, I was a bit concerned by the "very powerful" magnet. Hopefully the magnet is not too powerful to impact my health, or my laptop.

I don't think this is a commissioned coin though. With all the research and development efforts, the profile margin for this coin would be too small for external institutions.

Finally, I believe the coin will sell out and its value will increase. This coin has an international audience, like the UFO coin. International collectors will chase after the first carousel coin in history. Nevertheless, I'm not sure how much the coin would appreciate.
