You are welcome. Quote: And how do we pay for all this merchandise? Good ones. I especially like the Western Union one because that is where my grandfather met my grandmother. A few years before that stock was issued he needed to send some money back home to his dad. She handled the transaction. He boldly told her that he would be back at eight to pick her up. He was not kidding. They married three months later.

Here are a couple others that should be familiar to those who grew up in the 1980s or earlier.

These are all fantastic. However, I have had many stocks over the years and never seen a certificate. I've had accounts at companies like Schwab or TDWaterhouse, etc. and they retain all that sort of items. So much easier to buy and sell if you don't have the certificate to sign and send somewhere. One click on whatever you want and you can buy or sell in seconds or close to that. I didn't know people still have the original paper work. Very interesting.

About 7-8 years back, you could still "certificate" your shares (for an extra $50 or so) but I don't think companies are even doing that anymore. It's all electronic. I have one live stock certificate for 21 shares of Disney that my grandfather gave me when I was younger. I could have deposited it with the company years ago, but I like it too much.

Very nice! My in-laws have some of these. They have been Disney shareholders for a very long time, but most of it is electronic now.
