In order for it to be a RPM or OMM (Over-Mint-Mar) they would have to raised on the coin. Not incuse on the coin. Mint mark varieties are punched into the die. So if they are incuse looking like something, they are not a mint mark variety.

They need to rise from the surface of the coin, because the mint marks are punched into the die (incuse) raised on a coin. So if it isn't raised or level with the surface, then your brain is playing tricks on you.
