NumisRob, those medals are so special, they should always be kept in the family. I don't like seeing sets like this up for auction. But it happens all the time. Too bad. Good call Rob.

Sampling of issues (medal and ingots) were taken from different Franklin Mint sets. In other words, complete sets were broken up and dispersed to get these specimens. I call this cannibalize collecting.

War medal of Napoleon I with the the diploma , dated the fifth of May 1821 . It is in the family since the years 1830/40 when it was given to one of my wife'sgreat-great-grandfather who was physician . I saw on identical one a few years ago in the museum of Liège (Belgium) . albert
