I cool and as good of a deal as I think this set is, I'm stopping at two. If they produce the full 50k, I think they'll be for sale well in to next year. Hopefully, the final numbers will be well short of 50k.

I got more. Based on the past C&C dollar sets on ebay, it should at least retain value for a few years. Plus it's a cool design! Has anyone's shipped yet? |

Is there something special here with this set? The earlier sets from 2014-15-16 seem to sell for like $15-20 dollars.
It's $15.95 which is cheap for a mint product but at the end of the day it's $2.00 and packaging that they are selling and they skipped a few years. I can't imagine the demand is any better now for it. Am I missing something here on this that I don't see?

...and it had one in the previous releases of this set, thus making this dollar coin unique. However, after an initial run on the 2014 product with the price spiking to $70 shortly after sell-out, there hasn't been any follow-up. This is definitely not something I would invest in. But it's one of the more affordable options from the US Mint, so buy it if you like it. :)

I got two of them, but as omxfl said aside from the 2014 dated set, the others in this series have not been too productive regarding sell out premiums.

I am going to take a wild guess and say about half of the mintage allowed has been sold, about 25000

Ok 21000 sets sold the first day. I would agree with you that they are now around 40000. Looks like a really nice looking coin to me after looking at the link. I am glad I bought some for sure after seeing the pictures.  |
