Every time it rains here in Phoenix ( about once a year) I can usually find another coin or 2 in my front yard..

i am grateful that tonight I did not forget my phone & glasses because: another wild buck, this one put on a good pose to look like folded-up trash, curled beside a leaf, too... I nearly walked right past it, glad I was still paying attention; I had just fed the last kitty and was walking away, the buck was a good distance from where I normally find them in that area. i picked only fifty-four cents in change, but I also found a pressed penny: cool find. I googled that to discover the coffee and the pressed penny universe. I had no idea it was a huge hobby.

Nice finds Mr Pink and I love the smashed penny! I was in Brighton for a guiding job yesterday and found two 5 pence coins - an almost immaculate 2012 and a 1990 that was very much the worse for wear! In a way I'm surprised to find any coins on the streets of Brighton as it's an increasingly digital city. Everywhere I go there are signs saying "No Cash - Cards only" and all the parking meters have been switched to payment via an app you have to download, with the coin slots blocked off. About the only place you can use coins is the pier, where 2p and 10p pieces are still needed for the gaming machines!
