Here's some from Portugal when they had an explorer series.

Here's another favorite of mine from Djibouti. I like the theme on this note, as there is a ship on the front, and the back has a camel, which is also known as the ship of the desert.

Wonderful examples all. I'm not a note collector, but items like these could definitely provide the spark.

Turned out to be "P25" under French Somaliland "Tresor Public, Cote Fransaise des Somalis 1952 Issue" on p. 535 of the 16th Ed of "World Paper Money: General Issues- 1368-1960" Quote: Very nice I'll have to look for those. Those are Portugese Escudos (P187-190) from the 1995-1997 Quincentenary of Portuguese Discoveries Series (p884) of the 24th Ed of "World Paper Money: Modern Issues- 1961-Present" There's also a very attractive 10,000 Escudos note (P191) "owatchman" Quote: Norway 10 kroner 1968 (I also like the serial number) and 10 kroner 1972QI -Nice 2 digit radar "hahag" and for those who don't know a "Q" prefix is a replacement

The Norwegian 10 kroner 1972Q had very limited distribution. Only 38.500 notes were put into circulation in the Stavanger area in Norway. The regular 1972 series with prefix A were destryoed. None are known to survive.
