Here's a nice little note from Venezuela's 'before times'. Commemorating the Battle of Lake Maracaibo on July 24, 1873. This was the last battle between loyalist forces and republican forces, with the republican forces winning and gaining independence for Venezuela.

how many logs they could run into before they started to leak.

I was wondering that, too, @Dave L. But I'm guessing those boats were engineered for that kind of abuse.

20-peso note from Argentina:

Post-Your-Ship-Notes
The reverse of the note depicts the Battle of Vuelta de Obligado, which took place on the Paraná River on November 20, 1845, between the Argentine navy, led by Juan Manuel de Rosas, and a combined Anglo-French fleet. Although a tactical Anglo-French victory, it was in reality a decisive victory for Argentina, as it showed that foreign warships could not sail into Argentine waters without being attacked. It also made the controversial and despotic Rosas (depicted on the obverse of the note) a national hero in Argentina. Ironically, after he was overthrown in 1852, Rosas sought political asylum in England and lived there until his death in Southampton in 1877.

I love it. What a peaceful vignette. Anyone know what the building is on the serial number face?
