Do you ever go for PR-65 or better proofs, or do you just stick with lower grade issues?

I have a handful better than 65 coinfrog. I think there's some earlier in this thread. I know I have an 1886 type II pf 66 in the bank I bought about a year ago. I'll get photos of that one day. I got it to compliment the 1886 pf 66 BN type I that I have. That must be on one of the earlier pages.

Really nice coins! Thanks for reviving this thread!
I have a number to add her when I'm home, and the highlight will be an 1863 with L proof in bronze. Only 8 known and a few of those are in museum hands. Don't have the 64 with L though!
I'm one coin away from completing a copper nickel Indian Head set from 1859-1866 too!

Just curious as to whether you have a specific goal for your proof set.

@CoinFrog. Goal....Hopefully one of each date with color and whatever catches my eye......so far it's leaning towards whatever catches my eye, but I have some time....I hope. Your question may have been posed to Red Raider....I'm not sure, but I answered. Post away Red Raider. I never get tired of looking at proof Indian cents!

My goal is transitional patterns and regular issue in both proof and MS format. I call my set the "spare change" set. Lots of change happened between 1850 and 1865!
I did finish the 12 coin 1858 pattern set, and I think I am up to 30 or so patterns total now. The best one for me was a cherry-pick of the Judd 300 1863 reeded edge!

Especially in 1857 with all foreign change and large cents being recalled and also in 1858. Wow. 30 patterns are an amazing feat. Please post some if not all.
