Very nice Robbudo If anyone out there is hiding a low grade 1877 proof I'd ask to see how close we could come to making the set. I know there's an 1858 pattern Indian cent amongst CCF members.

I have 3 1858/1859 patterns, but none are proofs. I'm sure there are some out there though!

I count the patterns as belonging more to the proof set because they weren't put into circulation, but I also count it as a necessity for a complete set of Indian cents. I kick myself for not going after this pr63 coin a year or so ago.

Doctor, Why do you kick yourself for that particular coin? Any 1858 Indian cent is a good one to have in my book (as long as price, affordability, and eye appeal are balanced).

Because it's my vein attempt to make a toned colorful complete proof set. That's a hard coin to come by with color. They were asking too much. But, somebody paid for it. I think they were asking $3,800 at one point. It may have sold for $3,500.

Gotcha! I think we should start a thread of Pattern Flying Eagle and Indian cents - do we need to talk to an admin or just start it?

You just start it. But, if you hold off a little bit the administrators will chime in and explain how to do it much better. If the photos are already in CCF there's a way to link them to the thread. They have the know-how for that. Better to do that than to add the same photos into CCF twice like I did.

Very nice ones Robbudo!! I once had a chance at an 1862 or '63 CN pattern, (if I remember right.) but passed it by because I wasn't sure of the market prices of patterns.

I don't have that coin. I kick myself for not going after it even though it was way overpriced. I kick myself because I need that to make a colorful set and the odds that another one comes up if very slim. I didn't want to pay $3,800 at the time.

No idea what this is worth, but $3,800 would be a stretch for me as well!

$3,800 is way overpriced, you shouldn't lose any sleep at night!
