How many coins that are certified as uncirculated have actually been pulled out of pocket change?

Asking at a bank for uncirculated rolls is usually dependant on who you are or at least around me. Since I go to banks frequently, I usually know the tellers and when I ask for something, I get it if they have them. I can usually get uncirculated rolls if I want them but the tellers seldom really know that they are new or mixed. If you know the teller they will at least check the ends to see if they appear new. If they don't know you and/or you don't have an account there, they usually say they don't have any. I go through that with Half Dollars all the time. Last week a new teller said they don't carry them. I just went back in line, got a teller that knew me, asked again and the teller went to the vault and came back with 5 rolls for me.
If you know someone that works in a bank, that helps also. Again, there is a decent possibility that if both ends of the roll appear as new, the rest may be also. If you know someone that works in a restaurant, food store, etc you could also ask them the same question.

Ask about boxes of coins. I just picked up a box of new State Quarters. Same for the pennies and such. You can ask them if they have new rolls or mix rolls. I always go for the mix in pennies.

Do you have to order boxes of quarters or do banks sometimes already have them in stock?

Try the busiest branch of whatever bank you deal with, they will be more likely than a small branch to have several boxes to choose from.

Probably a significant percentage. Especially for those Uncs which aren't Moderns or Morgans.
