Quote: The 1995-W was initially an afterthought. The value went up as people realized the rarity. How long did that they take? About a year?

I had another topic to call the Mint about. The Supv stated, "Tomorrow We have the release that will keep us all very busy".!!! He went on to say, people have called him all day to ask, May They please order the 2019 ERPASE, he laughed and said, people after learning they would not get the coin ordered Today, Were Very Upset... Seems the frenzy has already started, on the Mint's side.. Tomorrow, it should be a wild time, at high noon, Good Luck to all "collectors".....

The 95W had a lot of things going for it this one doesn't. It was 95 and we had windows 95 and dialup and AOL or calling the mint to place orders. Many websites with info on the hobby didn't exist. You needed to subscribe to a coin newspaper or magazine or buy from the mint to know it existed or go to a coin shop where the proprietor talked about something like this maybe.
The 95W was in a set with gold eagles and at the time cost $995.00 in 95 that would of been out of reach for many people. And if they had the money they still needed to know about it and as a result those sets mostly went to gold dealers and gold stacker investor types. The 95W wasn't really as available direct to collectors as this 2019 ERP will be. I don't think it hits the rarity of the 95W but yes it's going to be hot. The 95W is still pretty available in the 5 coin set's in OGP ungraded for like $5000 or so.which just means although there 30,125 of them, a lot of them are sitting on sellers shelves and not in collector of silver eagles hands. And that perhaps it's also overvalued still and out of reach to put all 30,125 in collectors hands.
I don't think it's a loser. If it's worth double what I pay for it I'll be happy anything above that is frosting on the cake.
Now I just have to be able to order one and get it fulfilled....

Quote: It was 95 and we had windows 95 You might not even had that. When was the 10th Anniversary American Eagle Proof set released? Windows 95 came out 24 August that year.

Just got an email from Pinehurst Coins. They're offering $150 at least. Still think that it's a little low. :)

PC... check. Laptop PC... check. Kindle... check. Phone... check. Credit card in hand... check. Five sessions of the mints web page open and signed in on each device... check. Alexa alarm set for 11:59:59... check. All this for an ounce of silver. Good luck to everyone trying for the coin!

Interesting. I just got a text reminder before it went on sale. That's a first for me.

wow the website is slow. I am trying to confirm my order and can't bring up the page - but - they charged my credit card so it looks like it went through. My bank's site is faster than the mints
