On ebay every note with uneven margins is a "miscut error". Here's a couple of the real deal, and they're replacements to boot, you can just barely see the adjacent note in the upper right of each. Click on the images to zoom and the adjacent portion is quite clear.

I do enjoy the irony of a replacement with an error.

All the asterisk replacements of my 1973 $1 prefix set. I'm missing one.

Quote: That's an impressive collection. completely! I'm drooling my face off over the "499" replacements, namely the *AA5926499 (though its slightly off-centred), *AB6054999 (design slightly low), *FB4002499 & the *FH4088499! Initially, I was quite happy to snag an *OL but I eventually found an *AA (above 5M) & was thrilled to get it certified VF30. It now books twice what I paid for it. The set, as it stands, is in really great shape & is quite the accomplishment. Good luck in capturing that elusive *MD @QC60!

Quote: That's awesome, Walk2dwater! -Thanks bud! It took me several years (in fact) to find this high # *AA replacement. Note how the design is positioned high too. Makes me wonder if they were used as some type of internal testing & then a few were accidentally (or intentionally) released into circulation. So after searching for so long myself, I can really appreciate your quest!
