1837 no stars Seated Liberty half dime: I've owned this coin for 33 years, and only noticed today that it appears to have a repunched numeral 8 in the date, and maybe even a little more going on. If anyone has any more information regarding attribution, I would appreciate you sharing it.

CC's coin looks like "1837 H10C No Stars, Large Date (Curl Top 1) V-1, Flynn MPD-001 and RPD-001. This is one of the Mint's most peculiar blundered dates, which qualifies both as a Repunched Date and as misplaced digits. Numeral 1 is repunched at the base, the 8 is triple-punched -- first widely left, then too low and wide right in the dentils -- while 3 and 7 are repunched south. The date style is Large and curved, with Curl Top 1 and Script 8." Heritage website description. https://coins.ha.com/itm/seated-hal...sults-012417

oih82w8, Thanks so much for tracking down the attribution for my Half Dime, and for providing the fascinating details in the forum! You really made my day!

Okay, it's 1840 day. From my type set, the "No Drapery" design.
