I had not realized it had been so long since I'd stopped by. Very cool on all your finds! Congratulations on your hiring, that is so cool! I wish you the best on your new job, I'm sure you will do great. Silver price is continuing to go up, so hope you keep pulling it, always a good investment, especially at face value.

Quote: I just got a box of Loomis rolled dimes ($250), so far I opened two rolls, I still have a lot more to go. I noticed a couple 1965 clad dimes. I pulled them aside so if I don't find any silver, I at least have those. I also want to pull aside some dimes for filling folders. Good luck! Hopefully you'll find something worth keeping.

I ended up finding 1 silver dime, a 1964-D. Also it is really important to check every single dime, and not just the edges, as this silver dime was very dirty, and I missed it edge searching, but found it while pulling out clad dimes for my dime folder. I had a fun time searching these dimes, and I will do more dime searching in the future.

I recently got $200 in dimes and a box of nickels, and in the dimes I found 2 silvers (a 1952 and a 1960, I can't remember if they have mint marks). So far in the nickels, I have found 1 silver WW2 nickel (I remember it had a S mint mark above the building), and some pre-1960's. I put all of the silver in one container, but I will be researching each coin to see if it is a rare date or not. I also made another trip to the bank, and got some more dimes and $100 in quarters, which I still need to search. I will update once I find something cool, or at the end of the hunt if I don't find anything of note.

Good luck with the job. Nice that you're in a place where the boss will let you "hunt."

I looked through 16 rolls of half dollars (Loomis this time), no silver. I will keep getting more rolls of halves each time I go to the bank, and keep trying to find silver.

Quote: I will keep getting more rolls of halves each time I go to the bank... Good on you! I was in Indiana for work last week and went to 2 banks in the town where I was and they didn't have any rolls of halves there either! They told me, "lots of our customers hide half dollars in Easter Eggs, so we're temporarily out." Lucky kids! Locally I'm going to start "bank shopping" to find one that has better variety.
