I just saw an article about 2020 quarters with privy marks that were put into circulation... from what I have read here, sounds like they must be super-hard to find!

With less than a month to go, I finally found my first 2020 coin in circulation! A gem 2020 Lincoln Cent.

Given that I've used cash less than a half-dozen times since February, it's not surprising that it's taken me this long to find one, but still thrilling! And, ironically, it still happened before I've received my 2020 mint set.

Today I received two Tallgrass Prairie quarters.

Now the only one left that I still need to get from circulation from last year is the Weir Farm quarter.

Then it is onto finding all of them but from the philly mint.

You need to compare that with the number of other quarters in circulation.

Well, I did a little bookwork, and I came up with:

The chance of finding any 'W' quarter is 1-in-4461.

There are 20 million 'W's out there at this time, in a sea of over 89 billion quarters.

**This is just a VERY broad guess using data from the Mint***

I'm sorry; I thought we were talking about all 'W' quarters.

The chance to find a 'W' with a privy mark (a 2020) would then be 1-in-8922.

Of course, those numbers are just mathematical odds. Given that many have already been pulled from circulation, and given the fact that some people are finding 12 to 20 in one box, the odds are actually significantly lower, maybe now one in sixty thousand or so.
