Living in the Carolinas, it is almost impossible to get any "D" mint coins in circulation, much less rolls at the banks. So when my wife and son flew to Arizona earlier this week for some hiking, I asked her to stop by a local bank and get me some penny rolls. She was able to score 10 mint rolls of 2020-D pennies! She doesn't understand why I was so excited today about this; but then again she's not the coin collector in the family... :)

Excellent!

West Coast family has helped me out for the last several years.

I just found this thread and as a non-active-collector, was rather surprised. I have been seeing plenty of 2020 coins, especially in my change from certain Dunkin Donuts BUT one location had a little sign asking for coins... the employee told me there is a coin shortage due to COVID. I thought that was some sort of joke, especially since I had seen 2020 coins at other locations.

Now that I see all you folks taking so long to score 2020's, maybe they were indeed telling me the truth and I should have kept those shiny new 2020 coins?

I never thought about anyone not having access to 2020 coins. The majority of mine come from the casinos down the street. Most are State Quarters. They look as if they've never been touched.

Congrats on that. The casinos here don't use real money; just plastic.

Nothing wrong with that. I have more than a few post-2001 "D" coins bought at the coin show because they never showed up in the batches from the west coast family.

Today I received a 2020D Marsh Billings quarter.

It is only the second 2020 dated quarter I have found this year.
