Today you get an 1894. While the cents after 1880 were relatively high mintages, in 1894 there was a depression which caused a lot of coins to appear from stashes resulting in a lower mintage in 1894.   I recently ordered 4 cases to move the INC to a seperate location. I'll post pictures when I move all the IHC. |

I'm pretty much putting the exact same set together with almost identical limits on price per coin. I've found that a $300 max will pretty much get you MS63-65 for all non-keys from 1859-65 and 1879-1909. Like you, I'm probably going to fill my 1866-78 run with AUs initially. Once that's complete, I'll probably focus on other sets and only occasionally come back and upgrade those AUs to MS when I come across something too good to pass up.

I moved all the IHC to cases. Like chirrs above this gives me space to upgrade a few but looking at costs, I may leave a few in below AU. But my goal is to get everything to AU at least eventually. Some of the lower grade ones will go into my IHC album as they get upgraded, but not all. The collection in the cases. Empty spaces are ones I'm missing.  Edited by hfjacinto

My original slabbed 1873 (VF 30) was picked up the because it was a good price, but I eventually expected to move it to the Album. With today's new 1873, I have updated the one in the IHC album and added a new coin to my slabbed collection.   Edited by hfjacinto
