Hunting! Isn't it fun!
As soon as we get change bags from the bank for the till, I'm all over them checking for die errors and any other coins I don't have, or that are in better condition.
Or another method I have is to take an old coin with me when visiting someone. I'll take it out and pretend I'm looking at it, then most of the time the person will say, oh! I have some old coins, then they get them out and so far I've been given about 100 coins with this method.

Yep, it doesn't hurt to let people know, as long as you can trust them. That's why I keep an old penny as a pocket piece.
