The story about today's note is as interesting as the note. A few years ago I am getting ready to throw out the trash and there is a mailer addressed to my wife stating that she is part of a class action lawsuit. I pick it up and ask her about it and she says it trash throw it out. I read it and it states that our information was sold from ATT to Direct TV and that Direct TV sold our information to a 3rd party vendor and that they shouldn't. Since we weren't customers of Direct TV, I read further about 100,000 ATT customers were sold to Direct TV and marked erroneously that they had a delinquent account without actually being customers of Direct TV. It further stated that if you have any evidence of collector calls or letters you should file a claim as you might be able to get compensation (expected ~$100). I said to her, we can get $100. She laughed and walked away. I open up the website and read the instructions and they list the ways the collection agency contacted you. At this point I remember receiving a voice mail that I was in collections for Direct TV a few years ago. I checked my phone and all my voice mails are deleted but there is a deleted folder? I checked and 2 years back the voice mail from the collection agency was still there. I submitted the information requested and forgot about it. Who knew that iPhone voicemails are stored after deletion? 2 weeks ago Elizabeth gets a letter (the phones are registered under Elizabeth but it was my number the collection agency called) that our claim was settled and we would be getting ~$800 but we needed to submit a W9. Seems not a lot of people submitted the evidence to get a claim settled. Again thinking its a scam, I check the website, then check my email folders. Find the original submission, complete the W9 . A few days later I get a PayPal deposit of ~$840. I split it with Elizabeth and used my portion to get the below note and a 1/20 ounce gold coin. Not bad for something she wanted to throw out.

Hey, You guys are doing great work in your field. I want to attain such kind of habit in my life but I mostly spend my time on laptop to feed my stomach. I would love to get some more information about attaining coin collecting habit. Is it beneficial in terms of earning money? Currently , I am an employee remotely and doing to hard work.

There is one big bully on this thread, he likes to show you pretty notes and then tells you, not to stop collecting currency as it's better than coins. And sadly I have no self control. So this note is all @coinfrog's fault. I once told him that I was going to work on Indian Head cents and he "bullied" me. So I had to come back to Currency. As I am actively looking to get a nice selection of large notes, when I find one that I like in a price that I like more I try to get it. I had saved up for a little bit of a while and this one came up. It actually looked nicer than an AU 58, so I purchased it. Today's note is FR 883a from the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank, its not a rare note but its not as common as Cleveland or New York. Looks great for an over 100 year old note.
