I have 6 total, but I haven't gotten one in about a year now. I don't roll search though. Why did the mint decide not to continue with the W quarters in 2021? I thought it was a great idea, having to search for them that is.

I like them as do plenty of people but I am not sure about the mint director.

Question: Why is the W Marsh Quarter so sort for and cost so much? Don't all the W quarters have the same number of mintage?

Quote: Supply and demand is still out of whack. Wow!! So even though all the W quarters has a mintage of 2 million each, the Marsh is the only one with higher demand? Thats CRAZY!!!!!

So far I've only found 1 (2019 Lowell), but I'm definitely keeping my eyes open.

I think I'm at 25. Have stopped counting, just dropping them into 2x2s.

Still batting a big fat zero, though I'm not roll searching just checking each quarter that passes through my hands.

I found another one about 2 weeks ago. Yay. During this time period of going thru Many Many quarters from my coin ops. I have found 1 State Quarter proof,& 5 silver quarters. My only conclusion is that the fix was in in phony "Great American Treasure Hunt". Certain people / dealers had prior knowledge of when or where they were released. Of course I have no proof of this, just sayin...

Quote: My only conclusion is that the fix was in the phony "Great American Treasure Hunt". I think the "Great American Treasure Hunt" was a huge success and a needed shot in the arm for collecting. It did have distribution problems in the beginning however. The problem I saw was in the 1st two distributions of the coins in 2019 when the coins were shipped in bulk ( Ballistic Bags) to the few distribution cities and were mixed in by the armored car companies. It did not take long for the people mixing the W coins in with the common D and P coins to figure out what was going on. At this time is when many W coins were snagged, set aside and eventually found their way to dealers and wholesalers in roll and box quantities. I remember W rolls showing up on ebay pretty much on day one of the first two issues. These rolls had a tendency to show up from Sellers in the same general locations, too. When the Mint recognized the problem with distribution, the 3rd thru 5th issues of 2019, and all 5 issues of 2020, were mixed in to Ballistic Bags at the mints and then shipped out to the distribution points. This change resulted in a wider, and more even distribution, of the W coins. Rolls of those last 8 issues took a lot of searching to get 40 decent W coins! My experience with the last 8 issues was a $500 box of new quarters would typically yield around 30 W coins. Lowest was sometimes as low as zero, highest was around 40. My daughter was working for a major big box retailer at that time and was able to swap out searched boxes of quarters for unsearched boxes of quarters when the armored companies made drops. She was my "supplier" for almost two years and we really enjoyed the "hunt". The "Great American Treasure Hunt"gave us a lot of quality time and helped us get thru the pandemic. She left the big box retailer but still hits the coin shops on occasion and keeps an eye on her pocket change! It got her interested in collecting and today she enjoys the hobby as much as I do! For that I am grateful! Whenever my time is up I know that she will inherit what's left of my collection and I know she will treasure in as much as I have. I hope the Mint does something similar in the future!
