I work for a bank as a teller supervisor. When the coin shortage happened last year it was really hard to purchase quarters from Brinks. But when we did get them they were usually solid 2020 quarters, mostly Salt River Bay. It was slow at the time so I went and looked thru them quickly for the sharp edges on the sides for the W quarters and picked out about 50 Salt River Bay quarters. Before that I probably picked out 10 or 15. But what was odd was that one of the boxes was all Salt River Bay quarters but every W quarter was a National Park quarter.

I did put the Salt River Bay quarters up on ebay as they were going for $35~$45 each. Nice way to fund my foreign silver purchases when silver was $13 an ounce.

But I had one person that wanted to buy a roll of these W quarters and wanted to pay $250 for the roll... I had to pass on that...

Billie....

You just have to be persistent with your searching.

I get about two 500$ Loomis boxes each week. The last 6 weeks have all been mostly mixed circulated qtrs with a few scattered uncs in the mix. The qty of W's in each circ box tends to be between 1 and 5 coins on the average. When we were getting solid Unc boxes last year the W's were ranging from 10 to 30 in each box.

Have been skunked a few times but as long as W's keep showing up I'll keep searching!

Just finished up another 500$ Loomis box that my daughter dropped off this morning.

This one was kinda weird. The coin mix was about 90% Unc Tall Grass Prairie, 5% Unc Marsh Billings Rockefeller and Unc Salt River Bay, with the balance being just everyday circ coins. My first inclination was this box had probably already been searched.

I was surprised when I found a total of 6 "W" Tall Grass Prairie coins in the group.

The search continues!

Zero.

It's been so long with COVID-19 sheltering that I haven't seen $3 in FRESH change over the last year. I'm going to be so glad when we can go out again and spend some cash. I do have about $500 dollars in change that's been picked through so many times that I've started naming each individual coin by their contact marks.

Stupid virus.

Got another circ 500$ box done last night.

This one resulted in two 2020W American Samoa Bat qtrs, twelve 1976 Bicentennial qtrs and one 1993 qtr from Panama.

Not a wash out and the hunt continues! As long as it stays fun (and I keep finding stuff) I'll keep doing it!

I just picked up a new case of quarters today from the bank. It looks like the ENTIRE box is sparkling new 2021-D Alabama's.
***Are there ANY W's made for 2021?***
I'm thinking of taking five UNC's for my five ATB sets and take the full rolls back for cash ($490).
