Well, a good stolen idea. The RM produced an A-Z coin hunt in 2018 so I believe it pre-dates the RAM A-Z coin hunt.

https://www.royalmint.com/coinhunt/

And boy, are those suckers hard to find, especially in Oz.

I have one of each of the RM 2018 release.
What disappointed me is when they released exactly the same coins in 2019. Still working on getting those. :(

Steve :)

A: The coins have been mixed in amongst general circulating $1 coins which will be delivered to banks Australia wide.

So, the RAM mixed the Donation Dollar into rolls/bags of regular MOR Dollar coins. Well, I bet there will be people who go to their bank soon and ask for $1 rolls/bags, will search for the Donation Dollar in them, and then offer them on ebay

... but hopefully it will only be short-lived as people realise that they can easily obtain them at face value in their change.

I think there will be strong demand from overseas so who knows what collectors do. The current $2 coins are good example - in total I think about 10 million+ were minted yet they appear quite rarely.

I assume you didn't get them by noodling odd UK coins that turn up in OZ. How did you get the full set?

Well I don't think they will bother with mixing it with circulation, and I also don't really think that grading by Ebayers is any different to coin grading when people say UNC coins from mint rolls, it up to collector to judge if they are happy with the coin. Makes me wonder what will happen to this coins grading, this going to be frenzy at 4m thats for sure (cause I know personally I will be hunting these down and I doubt none of the member here willn't be on the look out for these)

@ryurazu

Yeah, I'm on the lookout for a swap/keyboard pal. I am in the process of buying a second complete set of the aussie coin hunt so may be able to do a coin hunt swap. Have also been collecting coloured coins in the hope that they'll come in handy for swapping with UK collectors.

Already on the lookout. Have the school tuckshop and cafe keeping an eye out. A bit like the golden Willy Wonka ticket waiting to see when they appear and in which state.

David, I have a few friends around the world that I trade coins with. One of them is Kena (a member of this forum) from the U.K.

Q: Is there a chance of these coins being found in a Mint roll or sachet of $1 coins?
A: No, the only way to obtain these coins is in general circulation and by checking your
change.
https://donationdollar.com.au/pdf/D...ust-2020.pdf (page 3)

So how did this person manage to obtain an unopened bag of 20 uncirculated coins?
It's already passed the $200 mark at auction with two days still remaining.

... or if you can't wait you can 'Buy It Now' for $500 and it seems as though there are a few available!

Bidding as now passed the $300 mark with 22 hours still to run ... someone is soon going to be the proud owner of something that will be worth $20 in the very near future!

Already someone is selling a bag as BIN for $250.

The idiocy of some e-bay buyers astounds me.
