I've come to the realization that these low mintages ones, it's really just luck, so it's probably best not to expect to get a full collection unless you want to get off ebay a few months later when the prices come down. I think they were hit by bots pretty hard today again.

See you all on the 19th when nobody can buy the uncirculated AGE mintage 7000. (Checks ebay...) Yup, $3000, 4000, 5000 listings for the gold medal.

Quote: I wonder if a their "anti-bot" upgrade is really to blame. No. I'm a programmer / high end circuit designer. What you're seeing is a really, really bad database back-end.

Speaking of limited releases, there's only 213,000 uncirculated sets this year, so that one should be pretty interesting, too.

Cloud flare made things worse today. They should have done a virtual waiting room like what I've done for sporting and concert tickets. Computer only let's so many in at a time to keep the site moving freely and you have so much time to complete the order. They need to do that in the future.

The DB stuff seems to be fine, front end access is the issue I am seeing. I ran into a similar thing transitioning to our new eCommerce site (my job), it could not handle the front end load when you hammered it (in our case, it was a matter of assigning more resources to the host server). Not saying this is the case here, just how I see it from my own experience. It very well could be the back end hitting its load limit.

Not saying it is a bad idea, just that they did not execute it well. However, last year there was at least one person asking to bring it back... http://goccf.com/t/355475&whichpage=50#3102175

I'm also in the field. My guess is that it's an issue with the payment processing mechanism. Front end and DB each individually look okay to me, but the pipeline between the DB and the payment processor (along with managing the total count of items) is iffy at best--and probably drains necessary resources from the other two.

Yes! This exactly! There was no reason to have these on the same day. Same problem with the coins, too.

Finally! The order shows. I feel better and can take a break.

This was worst than the American Eagle release last week which my order still says processing.
Only managed to get this one added to my cart.
To the point where I might not even bother spending $226 on the silver Mayflower releases on the 17th since it will just be the same frustration again.

I got the silver in about 9 minutes. Decided to try for the gold. Had it in my cart and was at the last step. Tried to submit at least 20 times before it went unavailable.
